Any armed, non-beserk squad that breaks due to MC failure due to Bailing Out (D6.24), Voluntary Break (A10.41), Wreck Check (D15.46), Paratroop Landing (E9.42), WP MC (A24.31), OVR Prevention MC (C5.64), Panji MC (G9.31) is affected in the following ways: If Full-Strength it is exchanged for two broken HS (G1.131)

If Reduced-Strength it is exchanged for one of its broken HS (G1.132)

In addition, if it fails its ELR the one or two broken HS will be exchanged for the next lower class unit unless a Conscript (G1.133).

All armed HS break and rally in the normal manner but do not Disrupt (G1.2).

SMC take no PTC, do not Pin, or Break (G1.4); Leaders are not subject to Replacement (A19.13)on a Casualty MC he is eliminated, Leaders increase the Morale Level of all other non-beserk Infantry/Cavalry units in his location by 1, and a Leader is equivalent to a Commissar (A25.222 - .223).

Squads and HS may create T-H Heroes (G1.421), which may roll for ATMM (G1.4231).

Any G.O. Infantry unit may declare a Banzai Charge (G1.5).

An ATR/HMG/MMG being fired by a Squad/HS has its B# and ROF reduced by 1 (G1.611) [Note: these SW are not considered crewed weapons for captured-use purposes A21.13)].

PAATC (A11.6, A12.41, D7.21), Leader Creation (A18), Surrender by the RtPh Method (A20.21), Disruption (A19.12), Lowered morale by Encirclement (A7.7) - all are NA (G1.62).

LLMC are treated as LLTC by unbroken units (G1.62).

May conduct Massacres (A20.4) and if taken prisoner will not Escape (A20.55)

After 6/42, No Quarter (A20.3) is in effect and Mopping Up cannot be used (G1.621).

1938+ Japanese vs Chinese - No Quarter (A20.3)is in effect for both sides (G18.7).

In 1944-45 scenarios a -1 DRM is added to Interrogation DR (E2) by non-Russian MMC (G1.621).

1944+ Scenarios - Trip flares available toU.S. scenario defender (G.8),Tank-Hunter Heroes may use HIP (G1.422), and no DRM to T-H Hero ATMM Check dr (G1.4231)

1945 - Japanese may use A-T Set DC vs non-Russian (G1.6121)

Infantry receives a -2 DRM to their Concealment dr (A12.122) while the opponents Search dr (A12.154) receives a +2 DRM (unless opponent is Searching Building/Rubble terrain) (G1.63).

HOB DRM of +4 (for Nationality)(A15.1).

Ordnance To Hit color: Black

OBA Access: 5 black/2 red

Japanese OBA Accuracy dr is always less than or equal to 1 (C1.3).

Japanese may throw or place a DC in its own location (A23.61, B26.51).

Hand to Hand CC (G1.64).

Hara-Kiri (G1.641).

Special Ammunition Depletion Numbers are increased by one for Elite units (C8.2, An92, An95w, An96).

Assault Engineers, Sappers, Commandos are Elite units (H1.22 - .24).

On a Final HOB DR greater than or equal to 12 Japanese become Beserk (A15.5) [EXC: if in a pillbox they become Battle Hardened instead (G1.62)].

Japanese captors of an AFV must add a +1 DRM to its Start dr (A21.22, D2.12).

Japanese may HIP less than or equal to 10% (FRU) of MMC/squad-equivalent (in night-time scenarios 25%) in his onboard-setup OB and any SMC/SW [EXC: DC Hero (G1.424)] that sets up stacked with them. If the Japanese is the defender in a night-time scenario, he receives dummy counters = # of MMC/squad-equivalent in his OB (G1.631).

A Japanese pillbox set up in concealment terrain may always use HIP (G1.632).

Cave counters are fortifications available only to the Japanese (G11.1).
